Favourite part of Holland? And which bit of Amsterdam would you recommend to someone?

Well I love Holland in General... it's just got a great character, as do the people. I always feel very at home when I'm there, no matter where it is.
I loved visiting Arnhem... especially being a big fan of the film "A bridge too far" which just so happens to be the bridge at Arnhem. We drove by it everyday on our way to the Gelredome. A great place, full of history!
Obviously we are in Amsterdam a lot, and I love the vibe there... very arty and laid back. There are plenty of places to visit there, including the Anne Frank museum, which I would recommend to any visitor. Also a boat trip along the canals is always good to see the sights. There's a cool restaurant in Nieuw Markt (I think) called Den Waag (I think - someone please correct me here). The service is a little slow, but it's a cool place and a little bit different. The food is also pretty good.
Blah blah... I could go on forever.
Mxx

Mia, you're always welcome in Holland, like Laura said: We love you.

Maybe you mean, the street Nieuwe Markt and the restaurant is called De Waag....

You should go to Den Haag/The Hague though, it is a lovely city as well...

What about Groningen??!! Razz You've been here just a short while, come back one day. I know it is a long drive from the west, but it is worth the drive.

Did you know that 'A Bridge Too Far' wasn't actually shot in Arnhem? Part of it was shot in my hometown! Wink Mum told me that her and my dad visited the set once. Laughing And the rest was shot in Deventer, where I went to college. Wink

Yes, Holland loves Mia! Laughing

Dank je Laura!
En Patrick - Het was De Waag in Nieuwe Markt en het is heel goed!
I didn't imagine the film was actually shot in Arnhem, but it is still very interesting to see where it all happened.
