With the 2008 Olympic Games starting in a few weeks… I was wondering, are you going to follow it?
And which (olympic) sports do you like to watch? |

personally I won't follow it unless a British athelete gets into a final or something.
Some of the more unusual sports can grab my attention, ones that aren't often televised, like shooting.
However I will be intrigued to see how the Chinese manage the world looking into their country, as they are used to being a little more private.

I always like the Olympic Games, it’s such a huge and special event.
I really like the atmosphere of the Games, not that I like all sports, but it’s great to see a lot of different sports together in one area and in one Olympic Village.
I’m definitely going to follow gymnastics……planning to go out of my bed at 4.00 am and watch it live. I know I’m kinda crazy haha .
And I like to see the Opening Ceremony as well (luckily this starts on a more “common time” )
Other sports I like to watch are swimming, some parts of athletics and diving. And maybe some parts of finals where the dutchies have medal chances, like cycling and dressage. |

I am in Canada at the moment and have just seen the new bobsleigh/luge track for the 2010 winter olympics in Whistler. Very impressive, cost CDN$105M apparently. |

Apparently the US have been teaching the people of Beijing to cheerlead and now all the Chinese cheerleading teams are competing to win a place (mind you there are 600 places on the squad) performing at the Olympic Games. Apparently it's too add spirit and international appeal.
So I am just going to watch that bit then turn off! _________________

Great Britain is doing great at the olympics with 16 gold medals
The Netherlands has 4 gold so far, I think they had expected some more gold, especially in swimming.
Anky van Grunsven has won her third olympic gold today
The gymnastics is almost completely dominated by China and the USA, it was very cool to watch Especially Nastia Liukin is a beautiful gymnast.
Unfortunately our dutch gymnast Epke Zonderland fell in high bar final. |

There's talk of China having cheated in the gymnastics though. I don't know if they're going to look into the matter, they will probably gloss over it. All members of the team had to be 16+ (for health and safety reasons) and certainly 2 of them are 13/14.
The USA were SO good though, they deserved to win!
The only other event I watched was the mens swimming. _________________
