It`s a long , long list , starting with the Beatles and coming right up to date. I love guitar " rock " as much as I ever did, but I find the singer -songwriter end of the spectrum gives me more of an emotional tug.

So.....here`s a list of spine-melters:

Lucie Silvas ( just when I was thinking I`d heard it all along comes the freshest , most exciting singer I`ve ever heard ! )

Beulah ( see above ! Pure class , and emotionally involving)

Aimee Mann ( Often bitter, sometimes wry , amazing melodies delivered in a slightly dry manner which hides oceans of emotion )

Jeff Buckley ( A rebellious , exhuberant maverick with the voice of an angel . Essential listening for anyone with a heart that still works )

Jackson Browne ( Been around since the 70`s ..still writing classy songs and singing in that close-to-tears voice of his)

Ben Folds ( Funny, bittersweet, oodles of irony and smart-ass lines, but unable to hide the sentiment for too long . And an AMAZING pianist )

Nick Drake ( See my separate thread ...simpy a HUGE influence on everyone ! )

Just randomly wanted to chat rubbish, so I thought I'd list a few of my new favourite loves -

Which I'm guessing umm very few people will have heard of, probably because it's not to everyone on here's taste. Blue October have an amazing track called 'Hate Me', the title sounds horrible but it makes me cry SO much. Within Temptation are a Dutch band so really no excuses there for some of you, everyone else watch out for them big time. Stonesour, listen to Through Glass (I know Jo likes this one). Seether, I think he's a pathetic man but Broken ft. Amy Lee is stunning and Disclaimer II which it's featured on is not bad. Anyways I love my Amy Lee. <3 Very Happy

Oh my days, new albums by Brooke Fraser and Missy Higgins came out recently.

Brooke is actually amazing (yes Marly and Wai?!) and Australia, you must listen to her first album "What To Do With Daylight" ,in particular the tracks Arithmetic, Indeliable and Scarlet. Scarlet is a real beauty. Then the new album is "Albertine" and standout tracks in my mind include Shadowfeet, Albertine and Deciphering Me.

As for Missy another Aussie, but she's hit the UK. Her first album came out here "The Sound Of White" and the whole thing is sensational. I also recommend the bside "Dancing Dirt Into The Snow" it's really poignant. New album by her was just released in Aus called "On A Clear Night". I especially adore Sugarcane - makes me cry... a lot...

Anyways that concludes my music ramble for the time being. Laughing

P.S. I'M EXCITED FOR THE NEW KELLY CLARKSON ALBUM TONS!

I just put KT Tunstall and Angie Stone in the cd player. They are still great artists I love listening to.
