I believe I will be there, along with one of my nephews, who hasn't heard Mia before.

Interesting place, bar right on a junction so easy enough to find. Just my luck that the nearest tube station was closed and I had to walk quite a way.
First act up Danial Mofrad
http://www.myspace.com/danielmofrad
Reasonable singer but very accomplished guitar player and writing his own material, which always gets a bonus point from me.
Next Jharda Walker
http://www.myspace.com/jhardamusic
Jharda was interesting (1) she played the harp, not too many people do that, and sang. (2) she was with the best looking bunch of female friends I've seen in ages, not an ugly one in the group, all stunning and one looking a bit like someone from Emmerdale (TV programme here), shan't say who. She performed three songs too, including Fear of Flying and Hollow, both of which are on the myspace.
King Ramirez were up next. They were a guitar/drums duo but why is it that whenever I hear such acts live, the drums are always way too loud, being amplified over the lead singer and his guitar? The lead was a punk style Pete Townsend wannabe but I couldn't hear or distinguish most of the lyrics over the drums. They were their own biggest fans. Not sure why they got 6 songs to everyone else's 3.
Ellie Gray
http://www.myspace.com/elliegraymusic
This pianist ady seemed a little confused, not sure if she wanted to be a singer or comedienne, or both. I felt that she did a lot of warbling to make up for a distinct shortage of words in her songs, or maybe she just wasn't my taste in music at all.
Aaron Short, the evening's host was up next
http://www.myspace.com/aaronshortuk
He was pretty good and his site has some of his songs, worth a listen.
Sixth act on stage (how good is that for a fiver?!)
was our own Mia, looking lovely but then she always does (and some wags on the forum might observe that I am biased) Ben on guitar as usual.
A lot like me
Flower Girl
More Fool me
Miss Communication
Trouble all the way (dedicated to Ben, because he is apparently)
As I mentioned to Mia, she got by FAR the biggest applause after she finished singing, and rightly so.
At that point I had to leave. I missed Sarah Mitra and also Fleet Street, but a 4am get up for a 6am flight to Scotland and back late the following night (after midnight in fact) meant I had to leave promptly and rush back home via tube and train to Mrs Dud and few hours sleep.
With a bit of luck and weather permitting I'll see Mia again on Sunday; if so I'll post back here.
Regards

he bailed out on me - kids these days, they are so unreliable!
I might call him about meeting to see her tomorrow but I am not hopeful - he is hosting a housewarming party today!

One of the pair performing at the Bullet Bar - sorry about the quality, I couldn't sit as close as I normally do, so had to use zoom (well I could have, but I would have looked a bit like a stalker)
And one from Bush Hall last month
I won't be at the gig tonight as I decided not to go as it rained cats and dogs all morning and would have been going on the motorbike. Of course in the last hour it has become sunny and the roads have dried, but I didn't prepare the bike. Ah well. I'm going Friday to Hammersmith for sure.
