Mini personal review from Dud, now that he is the proud owner of a copy
A lot like me
Different arrangement to that we are familiar with - Toms snare drum adds a lovely feel to the track. Mia still manages the chuckle at the end
Taking a chance
Most of you will have heard this as the first track on her myspace recently. A much more orchestrated version of the track with the band sound, I'm a big fan of Mia's acoustic style but concede this is one track that benefits from the additional instruments and vocals.
Cry
This track is very different from what we've heard so far. I didn't recognise it from the intro However it feels more heartfelt and the violin (?) obviously adds to the right emotion of the track. there is a lovely riff that gets going right as the track ends, would make a great live singalong.
Flower girl
Again the band makes a welcome addition to the track. I dont know how much debate Mia put into adding the band over her well known acousticness but it works well here.
Miss Communication
This one doesnt work so well for me, as I always felt it was a sing along ditty kind of track and its a bit too slow now. I do like the backing vocals "Here it is!" though.
More Fool Me
This isnt that different in tempo from the live acoustic Ben Mark accompanied version and I could just imagine listening to this in some dark Vegas nightclub. The piano line works really well.
Turn around
Lovely harmony from Jon(?)
Trouble ATW
Much more sinister than the usual version, shivers up the spine with the chilling keyboards
Easier said than done
The masterpiece of the album for me. It's probably my favourite Mia track, lyrically and it works up well with the percussion providing the mainstay of the track. It brings a tear to my eye when Mia sings "Easier said than done" as I've thought that myself many times over the years, both in and out of love.
On the outside
A much slower version than the acoustic original, which is in itself not that fast. However, it works well with the heart felt lyric. Carefully chosen instruments, that work well. I think this track showcases Mia's vocal range.
Winding Road
So I'm intrigued - perhaps Mia can answer this. When you have a great track, do you instinctively know how you can make it better, do you look back and wish you'd done it a different way in the first place, or you do work at different versions and find a better one. Anyway I thought this was a great track first time round but its sooo much better here.
Just my personal opinions, feel free to comment. Disagreements tolerated

I so agree with you on ESTD.. That song is just pure brilliance to me, it's so emotional (especially when she sings it live.. I cried during the Regal Room gig!) and so heartfelt. I also think that is the masterpiece of the album - I can't stop listening to it.
Great review Paul, I agree with you on most of it! _________________

Here you go:
Quote: | EASIER SAID THAN DONE
(Mia Silvas/Ben Mark)
There's my heart in your hand
Waiting for me
I will fall but when I land
Will you be there for me?
'Coz we've come to far
To let this go
If I turn back I won't know
Sometimes you'll find
Hearts won't break
If I just hold on and it all goes wrong
Will I get another chance?
If it passes by and I look to find you're gone
Did I miss this dance?
But the hardest thing to do
Is to trust in you
It's easier said than done
There's my heart on my sleeve
And it's waiting for you
If you ask me I won't leave
I'll be there for you
'Coz we've come too far
To let this go
I won't turn back 'coz I know
Sometimes I'll find
My heart won't break
If I just hold on and this all goes wrong
Will I get another chance?
If it passes by and I look to find you're gone
Did I miss this dance?
But the hardest thing to do
Is to let this dream be you and not run away
I should learn to trust myself
But it's easier said than done
I can do it with your help
I don't wanna run away
If I just hold on and this all goes wrong
Will I get another chance?
If it passes by and I look to find you're gone
Did I miss this dance?
But the hardest thing to do
Is to put my trust in you
If I just hold on and this all goes wrong
Will I get another chance?
If it passes by and I look to find you're gone
Did I miss this dance?
But the hardest thing to do
Is to trust in you
It's easier said than done |

If you have left over Pounds, you can buy the album for 10 quid...
I still have some from a trip to the UK and I think Mia can use them so I'll pay my copies with Pounds. _________________
