Spring is finally in the air, so in it's honour we decided to update the site.  Welcome!

I hope you like the new design... feel free to leave your comments on the forum.

And remember to watch out for some new gigs over the summer in both the UK and Europe.

After 2 succeful tours in Holland, including a support slot with Dutch artist Wouter Hamel, Mia has again embarked on another tour of the Netherlands. This tour includes a small acoustic tour around the Netherlands, plus a support slot with another great up and coming Dutch artist, Giovanca! You can see Mia's performance at EKKO Poppodium in Utrecht this Friday 3 April. Check out the gig section for more details.

Some other exciting news is that Mia will be performing once again with her friend Dewi (of Idols fame) at "Dewi's Jam Sessions" at Club Meander in Amsterdan on Thursday 9 April. The evening is an exciting mix of music from Jazz to Soul to R&B, and includes performances from Dewi, Roger Happel, Miss Montreal and many others, plus of course, Mia herself. Tickets are selling fast, so make sure you check the gig section on how to purchase your tickets!

Onder Invloed is a project by music journalist Matthijs van der Ven, from The Netherlands. The project title is Dutch for ?Under Influence?, and the idea started in the summer of 2007, while reading Bob Dylan's "Chronicles".

Already, bands from all over The Netherlands and abroad are lining up to be part of the show, and Mia Silvas was one such artist asked to be involved.

You can see Mia's "Onder Invloed" performance at www.onderinvloed.com where she chose to record not three, but five songs together with her guitar player - and best friend Ryan Haberfield. Included in this performance are songs from My Chemical Romance, Rihanna, Eva Cassidy, Al Green and Michael McDonald. So, there?s a lot of variety in this extra long session.

I am very sorry to announce that I have had to cancel my next few gigs here and in Holland due to an ongoing back injury. I am obviously very disappointed, but I have been advised by my doctor that this is the best course of action at this stage.
I apologise to anyone who had planned to come to any of these gigs and hope to see you all again very, very soon, once I am back to my normal self ;)

Remember to watch out for new episodes of Dutch TV show "Movie Factory" over the next few weeks featuring both Mia and her sister Lucie Silvas. In the next episode, which will be available to watch at www.moviefactorytv.eu later this week, Mia will be performing one of her songs from her new album "a lot like me", so don't miss it!

Son, Friday 23 November 2007 ? The new, weekly Dutch TV show Movie Factory has a world premier. In episode 5 Lucie Silvas performs her new song "A Woman Should" LIVE. It is the first time that the song has been heard on radio or TV in The Netherlands. "It's a brand new song and no one has heard it yet", says Lucie Silvas.

On Movie Factory, Odette Simons chats each week with national and international guests about each weeks' new dvd and cinema releases. The TV show can be seen on a diverse range of Dutch regional TV stations including Regio 22, Maximaal TV, Stads TV Tiel, Atos TV, Smart RTV Groep, Roulette TV, KKN Regio TV en RTV de Bilt, and on the Movie Factory website . Lucie and Mia Silvas
This Friday you can see a new episode of Movie Factory. Singer Lucie Silvas will be the guest in the next 4 episodes together with her sister Mia who is also a singer. Lucie Silvas, together with Marco Borsato, had a number 1 hit in The Netherlands with the song "Everytime I Think of You". She is also known for her cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" and the hit "Breathe In". Mia Silvas recently released her debut album "A Lot Like Me". Both Lucie and Mia will be performing LIVE during each show.
